I use steel rods to support the hoops. It is deformed bar used in construction. Some people use steel pipe. For safety, keep it flush with the top of your box garden. This prevents people falling on the rods and impailing themselves on the exposed rods.
Make short clips to hold the plastic onto the pvc piping. Use alkathine with a 16 – 19 mm inside diameter to clip onto the 20 mm pvc (outside diameter) you have used. Use them to hold the plastic on the ends of your cloche.

Building a cloche is easy and low cost. It will extend our growing season by several months. It will keep out pheasants, pukeko and other birds that enjoy our garden. This is how to make it.
